DRI Metadata Entry Form

The DRI Metadata Entry Form elements conform to the ISO 19115:2003 metadata standard. If there are any problems or questions contact Phillip Harder.

For a more in depth description of the elements and definitions please refer to the DRI Metadata User Guide. You will be required to fill in all mandatory elements to submit the form. Please fill in all other applicable elements as well.

1. Metadata Creator *

Name and contact information of individual(s) who created the metadata.

2. Dataset Title *

Descriptive name by which the dataset is known.

3. Reference Date *

The date of the dataset that can be used for citation purposes. Specify the event of the reference date in question 4. (dd/mm/yyyy)

4. Date Type *

The event used to specify the reference date in question 3.

5. Abstract *

Brief narrative summary of the content of the dataset

6. Purpose

Summary of the intentions with which the dataset was developed.

7. Dataset Status *

Status of the dataset.

8. Dataset Responsible Party *

Name and contact information for the individual or organization responsible for the dataset.

9. Dataset update frequency *

Frequency with which changes and additions are made to the resource after the initial resource is completed.

10. ISO topic category *

Main theme of the dataset.

11. Keyword 1 *

Select keyword from the drop down GCMD keyword list.

12. Keyword 2

Select keyword from the drop down GCMD keyword list.

13. Keyword 3

Select keyword from the drop down GCMD keyword list.

14. Keyword 4

Select keyword from the drop down GCMD keyword list.

15. Platform Keyword *

Select keyword from the drop down GCMD Platform keyword list.

16. Dataset Constraints *

Access and use constraints applied to assure the protection of privacy or intellectual property, and any special restrictions or limitations or warnings on using the dataset.

17. Data Quality Information A-Data Accuracy

Please provide quantitative and/or qualitative information regarding the accuracy of the data.

18. Data Quality Information B-Temporal Completeness

Please provide quantitative and/or qualitative information regarding temporal completeness.

19. Data Quality Information C-Dataset Lineage

Please provide quantitative and/or qualitative information about the events or source data used in constructing the data

20. Supplemental Information

Any additional information necessary to describe the dataset in question.

21. Geographic Bounding Box: West Coordinate *

Longitude in decimal degrees (77.008889˚W) or degrees minutes seconds (77˚ 00' 32" W).

22. Geographic Bounding Box: East Coordinate

Longitude in decimal degrees (77.008889˚ W) or degrees minutes seconds (77˚ 00' 32"W).

23. Geographic Bounding Box: South Coordinate *

Latitude in decimal degrees (38.889722˚N) or degrees minutes seconds (38˚ 53' 23"N).

24. Geographic Bounding Box: North Coordinates

Latitude in decimal degrees (38.889722˚ N) or degrees minutes seconds (38˚ 53' 23" N).

25. Spatial Representation *

The method used to spatially represent geographic information.

26. Spatial Resolution

Level of detail expressed as a ground distance between sample points.

27. Time period: Beginning Date *

(dd/mm/yyyy)

28. Time period: Ending Date *

(dd/mm/yyyy)

29. Temporal Resolution

The time interval between data points (15 minute, daily, monthly ...).

30. Dataset Distributor Contact *

Name and contact information for the individual or organization responsible for distributing the dataset.

31. Dataset Location *

Online or offline location (URL or email address for point of contact).

32. Dataset size *

Size of dataset in megabytes (MB).

33. Dataset Format *

Name of dataset transfer format.
