Trans-Boundary Issues in Water Quantity Management

Canada’s political boundaries have been described as a “triumph of geometry over geography” from a water management perspective. Nowhere is the management challenge more significant that in Prairie Canada. The Saskatchewan Branch of the CWRA is proud to host this one day workshop to explore several aspects of interjurisdictional water quantity management including policy, governance, public engagement, and data harmonization. Howard Wheater, Canada Excellence Research Chair in Water Security, will provide the keynote address. Afternoon sessions will focus on case studies from the Estevan aquifer, the South Saskatchewan River basin, and the Red River basin.
